Titled AGLI UFFIZI. Il museo senza città (AT THE UFFIZI. The museum without a city), the talk is organized by the Ordine degli Architetti di Firenze www.ordinearchitetti.fi.it (the local Association of Architects) in collaboration with Image www.image-web.org as part of the FIRENZE CHE SARÀ (A FLORENCE THAT WILL BE) program of public conversations and architecture videos that are open to citizens, architects, planners and city administrators to discuss ideas, share visions and imagine the city of tomorrow. In this fourth appointment, FIRENZE CHE SARÀ is now focusing on the Florentine city center, with the aim of stimulating a more consolidated and easeful relationship between the urban context, society and forward-thinking design. "The city of Florence, especially its historical center, is very closely tied to the Uffizi and to the masterpieces collected in its prestigious museum", the talk organizers state. "But what sort of situation can we observe from this privileged point of view? What abilities and what kind of design commitment are testified by the visions for a lively city, one that is open to the formulation of its most desirable future?" Architecture videos, offered by Image ARCHIVE www.image-web.org, will spur the discussion on the ideas and visions for the future of the historical center of Florence; Stefano Boeri, architect, and Michele Dantini, art critic and historian, will take part in the conversation. The selected videos will encourage a broad observation of the design of contemporary public space in cities around the world.
