BERNARD TSCHUMI ARCHITECTS / ANIMA CULTURAL CENTER FINAL DESIGN (2014)

At the conference held at the MAXXI museum in Rome, Bernard Tschumi presented on Friday February 7, 2014 the final design for ANIMA, the cultural centre in Grottammare (Ascoli Piceno, Italy), developed by the French-Swiss architect to host and encourage the artistic and creative expression and production of the region in a public centre due to open in 2017. The presentation of this phase in the project design follows a process which from the outset tended to encourage meetings and participation with the local community, gradually extending to the international dimension. Over the last few months the project has attracted attention, interest and questions to which Tschumi now responds offering new insights into the ideas which gave rise to his first project in Italy and the solutions adopted for its realization. The building, commissioned by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ascoli Piceno and received by the Municipality of Grottammare, will be part of the retrospective that the Georges Pompidou Centre will dedicate to Bernard Tschumi’s work on 30 April of this year.
